Installation of CLIMCOR CONTINENT Scientific Council

The CLIMCOR CONTINENT Scientific Council has taken place for the first time at the CNRS headquarters in Paris on March 22, 2013. Composed of 10 scientists covering 3 of the 4 disciplinary fields of INSU (ocean-atmosphere, continental surfaces and interfaces, Earth sciences) and a part of those from InEE, it is led by Fabien Arnaud, Scientific Coordinator of CLIMCOR CONTINENT. This committee aims to give opinions on the development of scientific innovations in regards to continental corings, implemented through CLIMCOR, and to inform their existence to the knowledge of a wide scientific community. It is also assigned with the mission to give opinions on the organization of the use of materials, particularly concerning the scientific orientation of continental coring projects. Strategic organ of CLIMCOR CONTINENT, the Scientific Council assures an optimal use of new materials developed and acquired through CLIMCOR Equipex.
